FAQs

  • We are based in Southend, Essex (SS2) and welcome you to our homely studio. We have various local outdoor locations to choose from and for newborn sessions there is the option of us to come to your home. Please note that we’ll have to charge £1.50 per mile for distances over a 30 mile radius and there may be additional charges for central London locations or where there are tolls.

  • We are currently getting booked up 2 month in advance, and to allow time for a full consultation it’s best to get us booked in as soon as possible.

    For newborn sessions, let us know as soon as you know your due date, and we can advise on the best time for your session.

    For maternity sessions, it does depend on each individual pregnancy, however we normally aim between 34-37 weeks.

  • Due to the nature of our work, depending on your session location, we may ask for this person not to attend or will need to rearrange your session. Please notify us as soon as you know someone is ill.

    PHOTO SESSIONS: We will do everything we can to rearrange your photo session to the next earliest convenience.


    MINIS: As minis are only held on one day, we may be able to give you a voucher of the full amount to put towards another of our products/packages/minis.

    As per our Terms & Conditions we have the right to refuse if anyone turns up and people are ill. Please also refer to our T&Cs regarding cancellations.

  • Yes we do! We offer digital vouchers for any amount you require. Once purchased we can either email the voucher to you or your loved ones at the appropriate time.

  • This is what we’re here for. We work with angles and lighting to make sure you get the photos you are after.

General

  • Once you have booked your session, we’ll have a consultation with you to make sure everything is clear about what is needed for the day. You can also browse our ‘Your Experience’ page for all info. 

  • We have a light airy style, so to help achieve this we recommend neutral, light and plain colours. The more colours and the more patterns will take away from you and your little ones. For more help and guidance please see our ‘YOUR EXPERIENCE’ page.

  • We have found that people are so much more comfortable with their own make-up on and prefer the photos when they feel more like themselves. We do however have contacts of some very talented ladies who we don’t mind putting you in contact with if you feel this is something you’d like.

  • We have a minimilist style but do include some props for our sessions if requested. As part of your consultation we will talk you through options.

    For mini sessions, please note it is a fixed set and props may or may not be included as standard as part of them.

  • Although we have a more simple and natural style we are absolutely happy to discuss any props you would like in your session. We do ask where possible to let us know in your consultation so that we can plan this into your session.

  • The amount of photos you get with your session will depend on the session you have booked. Please check our ‘Prices & Packages’ page for details.

    In addition you can expect between 8-15 photos to choose from for any Mini session, 10-35 photos for our Taster sessions and 30-65 photos for our Essential and Imagine sessions.

  • PHOTOGRAPHY: This happens, however our packages have enough time for us to continue to take photos and work the session around this. Please bear in mind some discussed poses may not be possible, but that is why we discuss back up shots in your consultation.

    MINIS: We all have those parenting moments when we have 15 minutes for our children to smile and look happy and they decide to do the complete opposite. We are super laid back, and are a Mum and Aunt ourselves so we understand. Distraction we find is the best method. We love capturing natural interaction between families, so the more chatty and involved you are with each other the better. So don’t stress if they don’t say ‘cheese’ on cue. Sometimes kids just need a little longer than 15mins to settle and show their best selves. If this describes your child, we offer other sessions with longer time frames which might be more suitable.

Sessions

  • For newborn sessions we offer both studio or a home visit. For the home sessions, we will take photos in one room of your home – which is up to you. We recommend either your bedroom, your little one’s nursery, or your lounge. All we ask is that there is a plug socket for our extension plugs and where possible lots of nice natural lighting. We may also ask for snazzy covers or throws to be removed if the shoot requires it.

  • We realise that your little one could arrive at any time, so rest assured we will rearrange the date. Please note it may be on a different day of the week to your original booking.

  • This is completely up to you, but our sessions concentrate on capturing all aspects of your little one’s life . This includes capturing the loving bond between your family. Each session will depend on the co-operation of the siblings and temperament of your baby.

  • Our natural photography style means it doesn’t matter if your baby is awake or asleep. While we try to capture both, we work with how your baby is on the day and allow plenty of time for soothing and to get them to sleep if they need it.

  • If your baby has jaundice we would suggest that you let it settle before having your photo session, however we are still happy to go ahead if desired. Please give us as much notice as possible so we can discuss any additional requirements in order to make the session appropriate for you and your baby.

  • It’s nature and we’re used to this happening. All our props are thoroughly cleaned after every session and replaced when necessary, so you can be at ease.

MATERNITY & NEWBORN

  • Yes we do. We hold the right to use our judgement in regards to photographic style and editing. Our brand is very natural and therefore any editing we do (either by our judgement or requested by clients) will only be of that nature.

  • We edit in a very natural way, however you can request further edits if you wish. Please be aware that depending on the session you have booked, or the request, there may be a small fee for us to do these additional edits.

  • Studio/Location: We will have your photos ready to view within 2 weeks of your session.

    Nursery: We aim to have your photos ready for viewing between 2-3 weeks of the session.

    Proofs of your edited photos will be available on our online gallery and access will be sent to you via an email link and password.

  • If you have images included in your session, as soon as you have selected your photos and let us know you have made you selection, a download link to the final images will be sent to you within 48 hours.

    Any photos you buy will be released once payment has been confirmed. A download link to the final images will be sent to you, normally within 48 hours.

    Please note, times may vary occasionally but we’ll always notify you if that’s the case.

AFTER YOUR SESSION

  • We offer options to meet dietary requirements. Simply let us know when booking and during your consultation to ensure things can be put in place.

    We generally use child friendly paint, however we do have the option of using different organic options instead if you are concerned. Please note that this may limit colours.

    We will happily work with you to make sure that the photoshoot environment is a safe one, not only for your child/children, but for you too. Therefore, if you or your child/children have any allergies, please do let us know as soon as possible so that we can make the necessary adjustments.

CAKE SMASHES & PAINT SPLASHES

  • As everything is designed specifically for you, it really depends on what you want. It will also depends on when you can have the two consultations but we’ll make sure we are fully in touch with you so you know how your piece is coming along.

  • We offer a totally bespoke service, which includes two consultations. The first is to get a full understanding of what it is you want and the second for any changes you require, ensuring you are happy with the end product.

    Further consultations are available at an additional cost.
